Car Remapping — More Smiles per Gallon
See the massive increase in torque and power through the rev range for a BMW 120d.
Before we get into the details of car remapping, let’s talk about our “Try it, Love It, or Money Back” guarantee.
If you don’t feel the kick in the back, the surging ease of over-taking, the sheer fun of blasting out of corners, we will give you your money back. Take 30 days to get used to your new, faster car. If at any time you don’t like the extra oomph, we’d rather return your money.
In fact we’ll give you a bit more than your money back. Return your PowerBox, cables and packaging and we’ll refund your return postage too. Or bring back your car and we’ll restore the low power factory map and give you the cost of fuel to get your car to us.
So you can’t lose out!
But be warned: once felt, no one ever wants to give up extra performance.
Where do we find you that extra oomph? Well, the marketeers steal some of it from you in the hope you spend £thousands on a more expensive car that makes them more money.
Race car in production in our workshop. Getting 720+ HP from 2.2 liters is a black art. Fortunately the pilot has the bottle to race it. Engine shown has been completely rebuilt. Suspension is a bespoke design. Note details like the cream Zircotec coating on the exhaust headers to keep energy in and improve spool-up.
The taxman robs you of some by encouraging manufacturers to meet its road and company car tax bands.
And the engineers don’t know that you feed your car our high-quality UK fuel. So it gets detuned to protect other people in other lands.
We shout: “nuts to the marketeers”. To the taxman we whisper: “thanks for fixing the tax bands on the factory output.” And to the engineers we say: “why didn’t you put a UK map in it for us, one like Tracktive’s PowerMap?”
Remapping a Car – Petrol or Diesel
VAG Tuning. Graph shows 1.4 TSFI engine. Not just more power, engine pulls from lower in the rev range and keeps pulling much longer. What’s not to like?
We can recover your lost performance. After much searching and testing on our dyno, and on the roads, we bring you two possibilities:
- PowerMap for ultimate performance in petrol and diesels
- PowerBox for plug and play performance in diesels
Would it surprise you that thousands of owners of these cars make them go faster:
Of course you don’t have to use the extra performance to burn away from the lights. Even though the naughty child in you will be sorely tempted. Every now and then.
What you’ll certainly notice is how much safer overtaking is — simply much less time on the wrong side of the road. No longer will you lose opportunity after opportunity to overtake lorries, caravans and Sunday drivers. Imagine: frustration banished as you surge past.
And imagine you’re merging into that gap in the outside lane. Now you’ll have the power to move smoothly into the flow. Gap opens ahead? Power forward to the envy of the cars left behind.
Plugging a PowerBox into your car is the work of minutes.Well, we would say that! In case the installation pictures aren’t enough, simply give us a bell and we’ll talk you through it.
Aftermarket ECU: setting up a car on our dyno. Our dyno is mostly used for setting up race cars. We also test cars for rule compliance in three race series and for fuel additive performance. Want more than an engine remap? Get The Dog’s: a dynamic remap-brake-suspension package. Want still more? We can supply fast and furious road/track cars from £24000+vat. Fun race cars from £50000+vat. Winning race cars from £250000+vat, up to the limits of your desire to compete.
While designing the PowerMap for your car is expert, time consuming and detailed work on a dynamometer, programming your car with a PowerMap is simple. Still, programming gets the same care and attention as making the map.
- First we stabilise your car’s voltage with our state of the art charging system
- Now we check for fault codes and remove them so that they don’t get permanently programmed in
- Then we read your engine management data and make the changes precisely where needed
- Next we send the new data back to the car
- A quick check and you’re ready to rip down the road
Never, ever let someone touch your car if they don’t take precautions 1 and 2.

Tried and Tested Diesel Tuning Boxes
Tuning Boxes for Diesels with smartphone control. Also available with standard remote and on-box control.
Apart from a big boost in performance, what do you get? We’re up to the fifth generation of PowerBox now. You probably don’t care too much about the smaller and more rugged box.
This will catch the attention of the frugal amongst you. Take your box from old to new car for little more than the cost of new cables on popular common rail diesels. For other cars, we’ll give you a healthy trade-in. Because we know you’ll never want to go back.
What you’ll love is the ability to control power of your car from your Android or iPhone.
Richard’s been running a fourth generation on his BMW 535d for five years now. Box and car are going strong (pun intended). We have a few fourth generation boxes left here at a knock down price.
PowerMap or PowerBox?
No turbo? Don’t waste your money. Really, I mean it. Unless you’re Ayrton Senna reincarnated, you’ll not notice the difference.
Petrol? Mostly, you go the PowerMap route to get stonking performance safely.
Diesel? Choose PowerMap for ultimate power. Or choose a PowerBox so that you can dial the performance up and down to suit your journey. Save fuel on long journeys with the family and then turn it up to 11 for that Sunday morning blast.
The extra cost of the next engine in the range can be £1000’s of pounds. No wonder the marketeers want you to splash out on what can be just a different map. You may be surprised then, that neither a PowerBox nor a PowerMap is £1000. They’re much, much less.
What you get with a PowerMap or PowerBox:
- Unique – try with no risk. Find the extra oomph is not for you? Give it up for any reason, or no reason, and we’ll gladly refund your money and your costs
- More entertaining driving on the open road
- Safer, shorter, more frequent overtaking opportunities
- Diesel boxes reward careful driving with better mpg
- Restored – the power stolen by scheming marketeers, tax officials and lazy engineers
- Unique – smart phone remote control for PowerBox or dedicated remote when not available
- Unique – ability to take PowerBox with you to your next car or great trade in price if not
Or you can transform you car’s dynamics in every dimension with “The Dog’s”. Your choice of PowerMap or PowerBox, a big brake kit for better stopping, a suspension kit to improve handling, and a before and after dyno map for maximum bragging rights.
And for the truly bitten by the go-faster bug, we can build you a fast and furious road car for £24k+VAT, a fun race car from 50k+VAT, and a winning race car from £250k+VAT.
If you’re in a mad rush, just fill in the phone number. If you have a few seconds more, it’s nice to know what to call you when we call back, to have email in case we need to get in touch that way, and your car’s registration so we can work out what you can expect. I hate giving out information, so I promise you I won’t misuse yours. You’ll get a call back from me personally. I’m a car nut too. I’ve been tuning my own bikes and cars for 25 years. So don’t expect bullshit or a hard sell, we’ll just chat about what you’re looking for.
(Want The Dog’s? Apologies in advance, but this will have to slot into our race car production and commercial testing schedule. We have less than one slot per month for road cars. And not all cars are worth spending this amount on, so we may decline rather than waste your money. But if your car is The Dog’s, you’ll love the result.)
